Default My Sin Build

Okay, I'm new to sins, but I think I have a decent PvE build running here, but for some reason I can only think it could be better, some how...

Dagger Mastery - 12 + 1
Critical Strikes - 12+1+1
Shadow Arts - 3

Skills-

Sneak Attack
Wild Strike
Shattering Assault [e]
Shadow Refuge
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support
Critical defense
Critical Eye
Resurrection Signet

I've been doing pretty well, like most sins I die A-LOT even with critical defense, keeping C-D is easy to do with wild-strike, but i just feel i could be doing a-lot more damage. please give your thoughts.

Not bad for being new to sins. Personally, I would substitute Golden Fox Strike in as a lead attack. I love the unblockable Shattering Assault chain.

Alright, a few things. First of all, if you're in PvE and obviously you've got Nightfall, you DEFINITELY want Critical Agility. This, combined with Zealous Daggers, will allow you to pretty well spam Golden Fox, Wild Strike, Shattering. Now, A key of the damage spike is the Deep Wound condition. A lot of people in PvP use Impale to Deep Wound at the end of a Shattering chain, but since you've got attributes in critical strikes anyway, I suggest putting Twisting Fangs after Shattering. That makes your bar look something like:

[skill]Golden Fox Strike[/skill][skill]Wild Strike[/skill][skill]Shattering Assault[/skill][skill]Twisting Fangs[/skill][skill]Critical Agility[/skill][skill]Critical Defenses[/skill]

Now, for the last two, I suggest really anything BUT Shadow Refuge, especially with your investment of only 3 Shadow Arts. Many folks, myself included, use Mystic Regeneration with 8 Earth Prayers in order to give a little degen relief and a conditional enchantment if your others aren't available. Your last two skills would be:

[skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Sunspear Rebirth Signet[/skill]

Alternately, if you want to use the last spot for kiting, either Feigned Neutrality or Restful Breeze works well. If you go with Feigned, I suggest 9 Shadow Arts, 9 Critical Strikes, 12 Dagger Mastery or something close to that. If you go with Restful Breeze, a scant investment of 3 in healing prayers is actually fine. Either way, this allows you to have a /Mo secondary and run a res such as Resurrection Chant which is great for frontliners in my experience.

Hope it helps.

Critical Agility = must for any dagger sin IMO

quick question: why Shattering as your PvE Elite? Most of my (working ) PvE builds are either Moebius or Promise...

Not bad but I am not a fan of Mystic Regen because well it flat sucks now . But drop critical eye for critical agility which you can get here (click it). But only your critical strikes at 13 at max (no benefit from critical strikes past 13 crit) and restful breeze is awesome take it.

Your atts should be
12+1+1 dagger
12+1 critical strikes
3 healing (if you go /mo)

to the op. see if you can get Critical Agility like stated before. if you're using SA, you may want to try this...

sneak
wild
golden fang strike
Shattering
critical agility
critical eye
shadow refuge
res/optional (like defense or sy!)

this would allow you to work in a nice deep wound when you need it too.

I'd recommend the MS/DB build for PvE, but I like that you're doing something different.

If you wanna use Shattering Assault, I'd take something like...
Golden Fox Strike
Wild Strike
Golden Fang Strike
Shattering Assault
Critical Agility
Critical Defense
Whatever self heal you like
Whatever res you like (other than Resurrect -_-)

I like Magikarp's idea of Golden Fang Strike for the deep wound, but if your target uses any blocking then just use Wild Strike instead. I'd also use Golden Fox Strike instead of Sneak Attack because it can't be blocked and does more damage.

No Crit Agility is bad! Sneak Atack is nearly pointless! This doesnt make me mad as it uses Daggers, but I dont like it v.much.

Besides, Crit Defence isnt a must fofr a Sin bar, no matter how well u play there is no 100% guarantee u can upkeep it in time, also, foes run, foes on HM run faster, so without a Speed Boost upkeeping CD could be quite hard unless u take Wild Blow which isnt a v.good skil compared to others.

And if we talking defences then u are an Assassin! U dont tank, if u see u get too much foes atacking u, Dash away from them, then kite back and finish them off. Armor and IAS bonus from CA is still essential.

In the rest, Shattersins own everything.

Blocking in PvE comes mainly from stances. Wild Strike is enough.

Shattering Assault is unnecessary in PvE to the point where it's stupid to spend your Elite slot on it.

For PvE kiting I'd go with Restful Breeze, not only do you need no points in Healing Prayers for it to be effective meaning less attribute spread, but you can also cast it on other team mates if nessacary too. Not to mention as the above poster already mentioned, you can take a good Resurrection spell too.

PVE is pointless enough to bring whatever you want but still i tend to be a lazy bastard and dont wanna spend 1k or 500g to get wild blow for my sin

You already have Wild Strike if you've ever ran the Shattering build.
